Job summary

Jobtailor in Houston seeks a Senior Site Civil Engineer with 12+ years of experience to lead design and permitting for civil, land development, and infrastructure projects. You will plan, design, and manage projects, conduct site visits, prepare reports, specs, schedules, and cost estimates using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

You will validate survey controls, generate design drawings from FEED to IFC, develop Civil 3D models, templates, and ensure compliance with codes and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 12 years of Site Civil Engineering experience.
• Engineer in Training Certification and working towards Professional Engineer licensure.
• AutoCAD and Civil 3D proficiency.
• Experience with grading and Earthwork site design.
• Experience with stormwater drainage analysis utilizing SSA.
• Environmental Permitting knowledge (NPDES, wetlands, 404, Phase 1 ESA).
• Site layout experience (parking, access, roadways, ADA compatibility).
• Roadway/paving design experience and related specifications.
• Surveying knowledge (topographical, boundary, plats, coordinate systems).
• Geotechnical knowledge (sitework prep, roadway/heavy haul paving design).
• High proficiency with Civil 3D; MicroStation/OpenRoads/GeoPak desirable.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; permanent US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, design and manage permits for civil, land development and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct site visits to ensure construction aligns with design and blueprints.
• Prepare and modify engineering documents including reports, specs, plans, schedules, and cost estimates using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Establish and verify survey control, lay out secondary control points for columns and walls.
• Generate complete design drawings from FEED through IFC stages.
• Develop detailed Civil 3D models to support design visualization and analysis.
• Design, implement, and manage AutoCAD Civil 3D templates, code sets, and client-specific standards.
• Lead end-to-end development of civil design packages ensuring alignment with scope and standards.
• Perform rigorous QA on 3D models and drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Generate precise grading, drainage, paving, and roadway designs per standards.
