Job summary

WM is seeking an engineer to oversee a portfolio of solid waste facilities in Tennessee, including 7 landfills and 3 transfer stations. The role requires seasoned expertise in environmental engineering, project leadership, and regulatory interactions with state and local agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar field.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience.
• Experience with landfill construction and regulatory permitting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct engineering and construction activities at solid waste disposal facilities.
• Engage with regulators and represent WM in permitting meetings and inquiries.
• Manage landfill construction projects including budgets, consultants, and contractors.
• Track capital budgets and report to local management and corporate.
• Develop airspace calculations and capacity projections for landfills.
• Assess sites for expansion potential and secure permits as needed.
• Collaborate with WM teams to deliver cost-effective engineering solutions.
