Job summary

WM in Morristown, Indiana, seeks an experienced environmental and solid waste engineer to lead engineering and construction at disposal facilities. You will communicate with senior management and mentor junior staff, while advancing WM's leadership in innovative waste management solutions.

You will direct consultants, coordinate regulators, and manage landfill construction projects, budgets, and material delivery. A Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5 years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or similar area of study.
• 5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Engages, directs, and manages professional consulting firms at solid waste facilities.
• Maintains regulator relationships and represents WM in meetings and site inspections.
• Manages landfill construction projects from plans to final approval, including budgets and contracts.
• Tracks capital budgets for engineering and construction projects.
• Coordinates landfill capacity tracking and develops fill sequencing plans.
• Ensures site adherence to construction and permit documents and pursues permits/modifications.
• Collaborates with WM professionals to provide cost-effective engineering solutions for environmental/compliance issues.
• Participates in acquisitions and due diligence with corporate management.
• Assists in training and mentorship of WM technical staff.
