Job summary

Landform Professional Services, LLC is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to lead design and review for land development projects in Minnesota. You will mentor teams, refine design standards, and ensure quality and constructability across projects.

Responsibilities include guiding grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater designs, while maintaining internal templates and best practices. Strong communication and a PE license are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, with land development and site design.
• Active PE license in Minnesota or ability to obtain within stated timeframe.
• Extensive knowledge of grading, stormwater, drainage, utilities, site design, and docs.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and efficient workflows.
• Experience reviewing plans and improving constructability.
• Strong communication and coaching skills.
• Mentoring, quality control, and continuous improvement interests.
• Strong organizational skills to develop repeatable processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and engineering support to project teams during design and delivery.
• Review grading plans, utility, drainage, and stormwater designs for accuracy and constructability.
• Lead or support internal quality control/assurance reviews at key milestones.
• Develop and maintain internal engineering standards, checklists, and templates.
• Identify recurring design issues and develop training or resources.
• Provide hands-on training in site design, grading, stormwater, and Civil 3D workflows.
• Mentor engineers and designers through technical questions and reviews.
• Help onboard new staff and support skill development across the team.
• Act as an internal technical resource for design options and standards interpretation.
• Promote consistent application of standards and municipal requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers to identify training needs and improvements.
• Evaluate workflows and recommend design efficiency enhancements.
• Stay current with industry practices and emerging land development technologies.
• Participate in project work to maintain practical design knowledge.
