Help shape great projects—and the engineers who bring them to life.
At Landform, you'll do more than design projects. You'll help strengthen the technical expertise, design standards, and quality of work that make successful projects possible.
You'll work alongside civil engineers, planners, land surveyors, landscape architects, and development professionals in a collaborative studio environment. Drawing on your experience, you'll help guide engineering design, develop internal resources, mentor team members, and ensure our projects meet Landform's standards for technical quality and consistency.
We're looking for an experienced Professional Engineer with 10+ years of civil engineering and land development experience who enjoys solving technical challenges, sharing knowledge, and helping others grow. This role is ideal for an engineer who wants to make a broader impact by improving how our team designs, reviews, documents, and delivers projects.
Why Experienced Engineers Choose Landform:
- Make a broader impact. Use your technical expertise to improve engineering practices and project quality across the firm.
- Develop other professionals. Provide hands‑on training, mentorship, and guidance to engineers and designers at different career stages.
- Strengthen quality and consistency. Help establish, maintain, and improve design standards, quality control procedures, and internal review processes.
- Solve challenging technical problems. Serve as a resource for engineers working through complex grading, drainage, utility, and site development challenges.
- Improve how we work. Identify opportunities to refine workflows, standardize deliverables, and make engineering processes more efficient.
- Stay connected to real projects. Maintain involvement in land development design while helping teams deliver coordinated, constructible solutions.
What You’ll Actually Do:
- Provide technical guidance and engineering support to project teams throughout design and delivery.
- Review grading plans, utility plans, drainage and stormwater designs, erosion control plans, and construction documents for technical accuracy, consistency, completeness, and constructability.
- Lead or support internal quality control and quality assurance reviews at key project milestones.
- Develop and maintain internal engineering standards, design guidelines, checklists, templates, and best practices.
- Identify recurring design issues and develop training or resources to help prevent them.
- Provide hands‑on training in site design, grading, stormwater management, utility coordination, Civil 3D workflows, and construction documentation.
- Mentor engineers and designers through technical questions, design reviews, project discussions, and practical problem‑solving.
- Help onboard new engineering staff and support technical skill development across the team.
- Serve as an internal technical resource for complex engineering questions, design alternatives, and interpretation of applicable standards and regulations.
- Promote consistent application of engineering standards, municipal requirements, and sound engineering judgment across projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and studio leaders to identify technical training needs and improvement opportunities.
- Evaluate existing workflows and recommend improvements to design efficiency, documentation quality, and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Stay current with industry practices, regulatory changes, design tools, and emerging technologies relevant to land development.
- Participate in project work as appropriate to maintain practical design knowledge and provide hands‑on technical support.
