Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC is seeking a Civil Engineer to be based in Somerset, PA, or Greensburg, PA. You will support land development projects including private and municipal work, collaborating with a team that emphasizes mentorship and long‑term growth.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, EIT, and 5+ years of site design experience, with PADEP permitting familiarity and Civil 3D proficiency. A sign-on bonus is available for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• EIT required; PE preferred or on track.
• 5+ years of experience in land development/site design.
• Experience with PADEP permitting processes is preferred.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and MS Office; knowledge of HydroCAD/HEC-RAS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed civil engineering design for land development projects (site layout, grading, stormwater, utilities).
• Support feasibility studies, due diligence, and zoning/code reviews for development projects.
• Prepare design plans, specs, cost estimates, calculations, and reports.
• Assist with permitting and agency coordination; respond to comments.
• Collaborate with PMs, planners, and survey teams through concept to construction.
