Job summary

RETTEW in Akron, OH and Pittsburgh, PA seeks an experienced Civil Engineer III – Land Development to lead engineering design on diverse development projects from concept through permitting and construction support.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with Civil 3D designers, surveyors, environmental professionals, planners, and project managers, and take ownership of meaningful technical portions of projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Active PE license with ability to licensure in required states.
• Significant experience in land development or civil-site design.
• Ability to independently lead civil design on development projects.
• Strong knowledge of site grading, drainage, utilities, and permitting.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design and analysis for land development projects.
• Develop site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater plans.
• Own significant technical portions from concept through permitting and construction.
• Prepare and review calculations, reports, plans, and permit documents.
• Coordinate across disciplines and with municipalities and clients.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers and provide technical guidance.
• Support project managers with planning, schedule, and budgets.
