Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer – Land Development to lead and support civil projects from concept through construction. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients, ensuring designs meet jurisdictional requirements and client goals.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in land development, a PE license in OH or MI, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, with strong communication and organization skills to drive projects to completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in land development engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio or Michigan.
• Ability and willingness to obtain additional state licenses through reciprocity.
• Experience with civil site design, land development, stormwater management, utilities, grading, and permitting.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with codes, standards, and municipal review processes.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality work for clients and communities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support land development projects from initial planning and design through permitting, bidding, and construction.
• Prepare and review site layout, grading, drainage, utility, stormwater management, erosion control, and construction plans.
• Coordinate with clients, municipalities, agencies, contractors, and internal team members to move projects forward efficiently.
• Assist with technical reports, specifications, cost estimates, feasibility studies, and permit applications.
• Provide construction-phase support, including responding to questions, reviewing submittals, and assisting with field observations.
• Mentor and collaborate with junior staff while contributing to quality control and continuous improvement efforts.
