Job summary

CPH is a multi-disciplinary Engineering and Architecture firm seeking a Senior Civil Engineer, PE to join our land development team in Florida. This role provides technical leadership from concept to delivery, mentoring staff and ensuring client specs, quality, budget, and schedule are met.

Up to $10,000 sign-on bonus! The position emphasizes hands-on contribution and collaboration across locations to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• 5+ years of engineering experience with land development/site design projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida.
• Experience with Civil 3D and ICPR.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages the design team during conceptual and development phases.
• Develops detailed action plans and resource estimates for labor, materials, and timelines.
• Selects vendors based on technical competence and financial stability.
• Monitors progress and costs against estimates and adjusts as needed.
• Collaborates with design and operations teams to refine project plans.
• Prepares status reports with progress, risks, and financial updates for leadership.
• Reviews equipment, facilities, and processes to identify efficiency and cost improvements.
• Coordinates with project engineers at other locations to share knowledge and best practices.
• Manages a staff of junior engineers and delegates work accordingly.

The Senior Civil Engineer provides technical leadership and strategic direction for land development engineering design projects, guiding teams through all phases of the project lifecycle, from concept development to successful delivery. This role is responsible for ensuring projects meet client specifications, quality standards, budget requirements, and schedule commitments. Serving as both a hands-on contributor and a mentor, this position plays a key role in advancing technical excellence and strengthening the firm’s reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

Duties Include

• Leads and manages the design team during the conceptual and development phases of projects.
• Develops detailed action plans and resource estimates for labor, materials, and timelines required to successfully complete projects.
• Evaluates and selects vendors based on technical competence, capabilities, resources, and financial stability.
• Monitors project progress, comparing actual performance and costs against established estimates, and recommend adjustments as needed.
• Partners with the design team to revise and refine project plans in response to challenges or changing requirements.
• Prepares and presents regular project status reports, including progress, risks, and financial updates, to senior leadership.
• Reviews and analyzes existing equipment, facilities, systems, and processes to identify opportunities for efficiency, quality improvement, and cost reduction.
• Collaborates with operations teams to troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Coordinate with project engineers across other locations to exchange knowledge, solutions, and best practices.
• Manage a staff of junior engineers and delegate work as needed.

Requirements
