Job summary

City of Houston is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to supervise engineering personnel and manage CIP infrastructure projects in water, wastewater, paving and drainage. You will provide technical guidance to engineers and project managers and oversee contract documents, bids, and design reviews.

Ideal candidates hold a Texas PE license and an engineering degree, with strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Requires graduation from an approved engineering curriculum with satisfactory standing.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas or equivalent licensure is required.
• Master's degree may substitute for up to two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises engineers and projects within the CIP water, wastewater, paving and drainage programs.
• Provides technical guidance and training to engineers and project managers.
• Prepares and reviews contracts, design/construction documents, reports and bid materials.
• Coordinates with departments, consultants and external stakeholders; conducts on-site inspections.
