Job summary

Tetra Tech's Houston, Texas office is seeking a Civil Project Engineer/Project Manager to lead civil infrastructure initiatives, from planning through construction, while preserving hands-on design involvement and strong client relationships.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, manage scope, schedule, and budget, and travel about 15% for site visits. Texas PE licensure or within 6 months preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering is required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Civil or Environmental Engineering in Texas, or ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• Minimum of five years of related civil engineering experience.
• Experience with technical project execution and preparing and pricing scopes of work for proposals.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel ~15%+.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil infrastructure projects including pipelines, pump stations, drainage, and roadway projects.
• Provide technical design support while leading project execution.
• Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong working relationships.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.
