Job summary

An established engineering and consulting firm in Western Colorado seeks a Senior Civil Engineer I to lead projects across land development, infrastructure, and floodplain management. You will mentor staff, manage scopes and budgets, and build strong client relationships for ongoing engagements.

Ideal candidates have PE licensure in CO/ NM or reciprocal within 90 days, 12–22 years of civil experience, and advanced hydrology/hydraulic modeling skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Colorado and New Mexico PE licensure or reciprocal within 90 days.
• 12–22 years of progressive civil engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets with minimal oversight.
• Independently manage scope, budget, schedule and client expectations across multiple projects.
• Lead competitive proposals and contribute to business development.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their professional growth.
• Provide advanced technical leadership and sound engineering decisions.
• Serve as QA/QC reviewer and technical authority for deliverables.
• Act as Engineer of Record for applicable projects and review work.
• Support construction milestones, field troubleshooting, and project execution.
• Maintain key client relationships and act as trusted advisor.
• Coordinate with public agencies, stakeholders, and regulators.
• Resolve issues while maintaining professional relationships.
• Develop new client relationships and expand services.
• Lead new technical services and initiatives.
• Contribute to thought leadership and strategic planning.
