Job description

Water Resources Engineer – Responsibilities
  • Provide project engineering and task management on water resources design projects.
  • Supervise and delegate work to junior engineers and support staff as necessary.
  • Conduct stormwater collection systems modeling and design.
  • Perform floodplain, inundation, and hydrologic studies.
  • Perform sediment transport and scour analyses to support water resources projects.
  • Assist in water resources permitting efforts.
  • Collect, evaluate, and present data in technical reports and oral presentations.
  • Prepare engineering plans and specifications for detention facilities, storm drains, flood control facilities, and other hydraulic structures.
  • Work independently and within multidisciplinary teams of geomorphologists, biologists, planners, emergency managers, and additional hydraulic and water resources engineers.
  • Contribute to business development, marketing, and proposal preparation efforts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree with emphasis in Hydrology and/or Hydraulics (or related).
  • 4-10 years of increasingly responsible professional experience in the study, design, and construction administration of water resource-related projects.
  • Colorado Professional Engineer license, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Experience with floodplain, inundation, hydrologic, sediment transport, and scour analyses; stormwater system modeling; permitting processes.
  • Strong technical writing and oral presentation skills.
Location & Compensation

Denver, Colorado. Annual salary range: $95,000 - $145,000+ depending on experience.
