Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. is expanding its Mount Laurel, New Jersey office and seeking a Civil Engineer to contribute to civil site plan and drainage design, utility assessment, and construction documentation for diverse projects.

The position requires a B.S./M.S. in Civil Engineering with 5+ years of experience, and PE/EI status is preferred. Strong communication, client-relations skills, and willingness to travel are essential; the role includes collaboration across teams and periodic site visits.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering.
• 5+ years of professional experience.
• Engineer‑In‑Training or Licensed Professional Engineer.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work well alone and in a team, with experience supervising staff.
• Ability to build strong client relationships and desire to obtain new business.
• Willingness to travel on temporary assignments as necessary, including field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with small to large design projects within technical specialty.
• Support other GEI offices in delivery of professional services.
• Evaluate and analyze collected data and prepare technical reports, letters and memoranda.
• Develop design and construction drawings, technical specifications, bid documents and project schedules.
• Develop and meet project plans, schedules and budgets.
• Develop and maintain client relationships. Represent GEI in communications and conferences pertaining to areas of specialty and other assignments.
• Travel to project sites and other offices as required, including periodic overnight travel.
