Job summary

GEI Consultants in Mount Laurel, New Jersey is seeking a Civil Engineer Intern to assist with civil site design, grading, drainage, and stormwater projects. You will work with technical professionals and clients to collect and review data for a variety of environmental projects.

The role involves collaboration with project teams, preparation of drawings and reports, and field work including site inspections. AutoCAD/Civil 3D experience and willingness to work in inclement weather are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering.
• Proven communication, writing, time management, and organization skills.
• Ability to work well with project team.
• Ability and willingness to perform field work in inclement weather.
• AutoCAD/Civil 3D software experience.
• Experience with ArcGIS software is considered a plus.
• Drainage/Surface water management programs (HEC-RAS, HydroCAD) (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist with civil site plan design, site layout, land grading and drainage, and stormwater design.
• Collaborate with project team to integrate civil design and project requirements.
• Prepare drawings, specs, memos, and reports.
• Support site layout and grading designs.
• Support permit and bidding document preparation.
• Convert field data to final drawings.
• Report daily progress to field supervisor.
• Travel to project sites as needed.
• Perform field inspections during design and construction.
