Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a licensed professional engineer to lead civil/environmental/mechanical design work across diverse US projects. You will review designs for regulatory compliance, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with sales on RFPs.

Travel 20–40% may be required; domestic and/or international assignments depending on project needs. Strong CAD skills, MS Office proficiency and regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineer (PE) license; 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency depends on duties.

Responsibilities

• Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Ensures firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
• Performs site reviews to ensure designs align with location specifications.
• Mentors more junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
• May supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.
