Job summary

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. (parent of Liberty) seeks a Civil Engineer to size and design gas distribution mains, service lines, and related systems in Sedalia, MO. You will develop cost estimates, manage procurement, and coordinate permits while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, strong CAD/GIS skills, and excellent communication. Travel to project sites is possible; a Master’s degree may substitute two years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college.
• Master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication under normal and adverse conditions.
• Proficient with CAD, GIS, and MS Office applications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Size and design mains, service lines, regulators, meters, and related components for natural gas utility.
• Develop scope of work, cost estimates, BOMs; requisition materials and secure contracts and permits.
• Manage projects from development through closeout; track schedules and budgets.
• Review proposed public works for conflicts with gas infrastructure and coordinate with agencies.
• Maintain project documentation and report metrics to department head.
