Job Opportunity: Senior Civil Engineer

Our Irvine office is seeking a self-motivated engineer with 10 to 15 years of experience in water/wastewater design, conveyance pipeline infrastructure, and construction support. Brown and Caldwell offers a growth-oriented environment for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Civil Design Team. This role involves working on projects for municipal, industrial, and federal clients, focusing on innovative, cost-effective designs for facilities, expansions, and upgrades.

The position includes designing in 3D using Autodesk Civil 3D, leading civil design efforts, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting business development activities. We value a collaborative, non-hierarchical environment that fosters flexibility and professional growth.

Responsibilities

1. Perform engineering work on water and wastewater projects, including pump stations, utilities, and site improvements.
2. Assist in project scope and budget development and design.
3. Provide technical leadership in civil-site projects, including plans for grading, drainage, and utilities.
4. Review work for quality, resolve design issues, and prepare reports and plans.
5. Conduct feasibility studies and site investigations.
6. Use software tools for detailed design development.
7. Engage with clients and attend meetings.
8. Lead civil engineering designs, including reports, drawings, and calculations.
9. Apply knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics for various water management facilities.
10. Support permit applications and alternative analyses.
11. Collect and analyze data, conduct field investigations, and oversee construction inspections.
12. Review submittals, RFIs, change requests, and coordinate with project teams.
13. Contribute to company standards and participate in marketing and business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil/Environmental Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in civil design for municipal and industrial projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Professional Engineering license required.
• Experience with permitting, project management software, and fieldwork is desirable.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Additional Details

Salary range: $117,000 - $160,000, based on location, skills, and experience.
