Job Description

Position: Senior Civil Engineer

Location: Remote

Overview: The Senior Civil Engineer supports civil aspects of our utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) solar power plants, overseeing design processes, ensuring compliance with standards, and assisting during construction with resolving field issues and final project acceptance prior to contractor demobilization.

Main Responsibilities

• Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Review and comment on civil engineering design deliverables for compliance with SRC specifications, contract documents, and standards.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders including development engineers, project engineers, contract managers, project managers, construction management, operations, and maintenance teams.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders such as EPC contractors, engineering consultants, authorities having jurisdiction, etc.
• Lead design review meetings with external consultants, contractors, and authorities as needed.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate and resolve field issues.
• Provide solutions for legacy projects when issues arise.

• Specific Skills Required:

• Strong civil design background on large project sites, preferably in utility-scale PV solar projects.
• Moderate expertise in geotechnical, hydrology/hydraulics modeling, survey, and land entitlement processes.
• Excellent communication skills for coordination across teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Professional representation skills with landowners, vendors, utilities, and officials.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% across US project sites and to Nashville, TN headquarters.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Autodesk Civil 3D, and familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and Procore is preferred.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field; PE licensure preferred. Over 10 years of civil design experience, including grading, drainage, hydrology, flood mitigation, roadway design, SWPPP, and erosion control. Experience with complex site features and multidisciplinary teams is required.
