Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in California is seeking a Staff Civil Designer to perform planning, proposal preparation, site evaluations and analytical designs as part of a project team. You will design site developments, roadways and utility systems, producing production drawings and calculations for diverse projects.

The role requires strong technical skills in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation and Excel, plus the ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams and to manage quality,

Qualifications

• Requires ability to develop design deliverables using standard civil design methods.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation and Excel for production drawings.
• Strong knowledge of civil design standards and codes and ability to apply them in project work.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects including site design, land development, roads, drainage, water and sewer utilities.
• Develop production drawings, layouts and calculations for non-routine tasks.
• Perform design work using prescribed methods and standard techniques.
• Incorporate design codes and specifications into deliverables.
• Review drawings for quality assurance within scope, budget and schedule.
• Prepare project documentation, reports and construction documentation packages.
