Job summary

Ulteig seeks a Civil Design Lead to steer complex utility-scale solar, wind and energy storage projects in the United States. You will deliver civil design packages, lead internal and client coordination meetings, and mentor junior engineers to ensure constructible designs.

Qualifications

• Associate or technical degree in civil engineering technology, drafting, or related field.
• 10+ years civil design experience in consulting engineering, EPC, land development, or infrastructure.
• Experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy or large site development projects.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, including surfaces, grading, alignments, corridors, pipe networks, plan production, and quantity calculations.
• Experience leading civil design packages and coordinating the work of other designers, technicians, or junior engineers.
• Ability to interpret surveys, design criteria, engineering calculations, geotechnical information, hydrology and hydraulic information, specifications, and permitting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction as Civil Design Lead without direct supervisory duties.
• Lead civil design activities for complex utility-scale projects.
• Develop and coordinate civil construction drawing packages (site layouts, grading, drainage, and more).
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, and utilities.
• Coordinate design with engineers, PMs, surveyors, contractors, and other disciplines.
• Mentor designers, technicians, and junior engineers on Civil 3D and design practices.
• Review design models, calculations, redlines, shop drawings, revisions, and deliverables for quality.
• Contribute to design standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
