Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Solar Lead Engineer to drive utility-scale solar design from concept to construction nationwide. This remote role can be performed from anywhere in the US or from Ulteig offices.

You will lead small design teams, act as signing engineer, and advance internal standards while interfacing directly with clients and stakeholders. The ideal candidate holds a PE license or can obtain one within six months, with 7+ years in solar/power generation and proficiency in CYMCAP, PVFARM,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Electrical PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months is required.
  • 7+ years of experience in solar or power generation.
  • Experience with solar design software (CYMCAP, PVFARM, SAM, PVsyst).
  • Strong written and verbal communication; effective presentation to all levels.
  • Ability to manage projects, tasks and clients to meet internal/external needs.
  • Knowledge of NEC requirements and PV system design is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project design teams of 2-6 people for utility-scale solar projects.
  • Interact with clients for successful project execution.
  • Review designs for standards, best practices, and client requirements.
  • Act as signing engineer for PV electrical designs.
  • Contribute to internal solar standards and tools development.
  • Lead site visits and client meetings to strengthen relationships.
  • Support early-stage projects with conceptual designs and material take-offs.
