Job summary

AECOM’s Water Business Line in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Senior Civil Design and Program Manager to lead our Civil Design Practice, with a home base in Buffalo, Rochester, or Syracuse. This is a hybrid position expected to support projects throughout the Northeast US.

The role requires extensive municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater design experience, with a proven ability to mentor engineers and coordinate multi‑discipline teams while engaging clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental engineering and 10 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer license in NY or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Experience delivering engineering reports, design drawings, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex design projects through planning, permitting, and construction.
• Coordinate multi-discipline design teams locally and remotely.
• Interface with clients and regulatory agencies for presentations.
• Develop design plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and stay current on trends.
