Job summary

AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for water and wastewater facilities in the Denver metropolitan area or Colorado Springs. The ideal candidate will drive multi-discipline design execution, mentor junior engineers, and engage with clients from planning through commissioning.

Responsibilities include developing complete design packages, power systems design, I&C/SCADA coordination, and integration of process and mechanical needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
• Driver's License is required

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical scope for water treatment and conveyance projects through planning, design, procurement, construction and commissioning
• Develop complete design packages: single-line diagrams, load lists, panel schedules and grounding/lightning protection
• Engineer power systems: MV distribution, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, VFDs, standby generators and arc-flash studies
• Coordinate instrumentation and controls interfaces with I&C/SCADA teams including PLC panels and networks
• Integrate process and mechanical requirements into robust electrical designs
• Perform design calculations (load flow, motor starting, arc flash, grounding) with standard tools
• Prepare basis-of-design reports, cost estimates, and construction work packages; support bid evaluations
• Provide construction-phase services: RFIs, submittals, field Observations, startup and commissioning
• Lead quality reviews and ensure compliance with codes and client requirements
• Support client engagement and business development: scope, effort estimates, proposals
• Mentor and develop junior staff
