Job summary

Bohler's Columbus, Ohio office is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (Land Development) to partner with Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver site design solutions in the Columbus area.

You’ll grow as both an engineer and a leader, supporting project delivery, collaborating directly with clients and municipalities, and contributing to Bohler’s reputation for technical excellence and partnership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 6+ years of site design and jurisdictional permitting experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and drainage software (StormCAD, Hydroflow, HydroCAD).
• Strong communication, organization and project management skills.
• Experience working with clients and project teams; PE license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project management activities including scoping, proposals, schedules and resources.
• Oversee preparation of site plan packages (grading, stormwater, utilities, erosion/sediment).
• Coordinate permitting and entitlement processes with clients and agencies.
• Prepare contracts, change orders and invoices while tracking finances.
• Collaborate with clients, attorneys, contractors and subconsultants for project success.
• Review concept drawings and cost estimates aligned with client goals.
• Participate in public hearings and community meetings; mentor junior staff.

Bohler’s Columbus, Ohio office, serving the Columbus area, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (Land Development) who's eager to take the next step in their civil engineering career. In this role, you’ll partner closely with Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, high-quality land development solutions. You’ll grow as both an engineer and a leader, supporting project delivery, collaborating directly with clients and municipalities, and contributing to Bohler’s reputation for technical excellence and partnership.

What You’ll Do

• Support project management activities, including project scoping, proposals, schedules, and resource planning
• Oversee preparation of comprehensive site plan packages—grading, stormwater management, utility design, and erosion and sediment control
• Coordinate permitting and entitlement approval processes with clients, municipalities, and agencies
• Prepare contracts, change orders, and client invoices while tracking financial performance
• Collaborate with clients, attorneys, contractors, and subconsultants to ensure project success
• Review concept drawings and cost estimates aligned with client objectives
• Participate in public hearings, community meetings, and professional organizations
• Mentor junior staff and share technical knowledge to promote team growth

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• 6+ years of experience in site design and jurisdictional permitting for residential, commercial, or industrial projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and drainage software such as StormCAD, Hydroflow, or HydroCAD; skilled in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Project
• Strong communication, organization, and project management skills
• Experience working directly with clients and project teams
• Professional Engineer (PE) license beneficial
