Job summary

City of Seattle’s Seattle Public Utilities seeks a Senior Civil CADD Technician (Sr. CE Spec.) to lead advanced drafting for CIP and capital projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Plant 3D, and related platforms.

You will train staff, improve CAD workflows, and collaborate with internal teams and partner agencies to deliver precise plan sets. You will be on-site 4–5 days with SPU/SDOT projects, oversee as-built/record drawings, and ensure data accuracy by interpreting surveys, inspectors’ notes, and

Qualifications

• Four years of civil engineering experience required.
• Association degree or two years of college coursework in engineering and construction tech required; equivalency accepted if six years of civil engineering experience.
• Current Washington State driver’s license or equivalent mobility required.

Responsibilities

• Develop CIP plan sets and permit drawings with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related tools.
• Lead CAD standards, training, and process improvements for the Design & Record Drafting team.
• Coordinate with SPU, SDOT, and partner agencies to deliver accurate As-Built records.
• Draft contract plans, as-built drawings, and record drawings for SPU and SDOT projects.
• Stay current with CAD technology and support budget and performance goals.
