Qualifications

  • Requires engineering degree with ABET accreditation or equivalent
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required
  • Specialized experience in engineering program leadership and supervision
  • Ability to train field staff in engineering standards and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Provides staff leadership in civil and/or agricultural engineering programs in NRCS Idaho
  • Analyzes engineering work and training needs; recommends training and placement
  • Prepares specifications and guidelines for planning, design, and construction of structural practices
  • Develops forms and worksheets for engineers and technicians
  • Manages staff resources: schedules, budgets, and funds requests
  • Establishes engineering standards and procedures; trains field personnel
  • Supervises federal staff on Engineering State Conservation team (GS-12 level)
