Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Idaho State Conservationist's Office seeks a senior manager to lead field operations and oversee conservation programs across cropland, rangeland, and other landscapes. You will supervise engineers, scientists, and program staff, guiding budgets and policy implementation.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to work with diverse partners to advance soil and water conservation goals across public and private sectors.

Qualifications

  • Manage field operations and staff by providing technical leadership and guidance for the implementation and development of natural resource conservation programs, ensuring coordinated staff performance and effective budget management.
  • Analyze workloads to support the development and implementation of annual work plans and to establish goals within available funding and staffing resources.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to groups and individuals on topics related to natural resource conservation.
  • Explain complex soil and water conservation issues, programs, and solutions to diverse groups in a way that supports agency objectives and promotes agency credibility.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee field operations and staff within an assigned state area to implement NRCS conservation programs.
  • Lead budget formulation and execution for field operations.
  • Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to advance soil and water conservation goals.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations and agency policies in program delivery.
