Job summary

Modern Government Solutions seeks a Sr. Systems Engineer (Citrix) to lead design, deployment, and optimization of a cloud-native Citrix VDI in a secure environment supporting national security missions from Sterling, VA.

This role emphasizes IaC, DevSecOps, and 24/7 availability. Responsibilities include CVAD in 100% cloud, PVS/MCS, FSLogix, IdAM/AD/LDAP, and collaboration with engineering, cybersecurity, and mission teams.

Qualifications

• Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph.
• Security+ CE certification per DoD 8140.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM field.
• 10+ years deploying and maintaining platform infrastructure in cloud environments.
• 5+ years hands-on with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD).
• Experience with hypervisor platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Citrix Hypervisor).
• Proficiency with Citrix NetScaler/ADC configuration and management.
• Strong Windows Server administration and Active Directory experience.
• Experience with cloud architecture, system design, and automation.
• Experience with IdAM (AD, SAML, OpenLDAP, OAuth 2.0, OIDC).
• Experience with DevOps tooling (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab).
• Familiarity with Rancher and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops infrastructure in a 100% cloud environment.
• Implement and manage PVS or MCS for image management; manage VDAs and storage.
• Optimize VDI performance via monitoring and capacity planning; configure FSLogix profiles.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows cloud infrastructure and COTS apps via IaC/AaC.
• Configure IdAM, AD, and LDAP resources for platform apps.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across VDI and infrastructure stacks via logs and root-cause analysis.
• Develop and execute test plans; maintain technical docs and diagrams.
• Collaborate with engineering and end-users to design interfaces and platform solutions.
• Operate within Agile scrum and DevSecOps governance and configuration management.
• Prepare technical presentations for government and senior leadership.
