Job summary

Wilkus Architects is seeking an experienced Certified Interior Designer / Project Lead. The role focuses on developing interior design concepts, coordinating teams, and delivering projects across hospitality, retail, healthcare, office, and senior housing sectors.

Based in Hopkins, Minnesota with a collaborative, family‑friendly culture. Responsibilities include leading design development, coordinating documentation, and mentoring designers while delivering on schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• CID credential is required.
• Bachelor’s or technical degree related to Interior Design/Architecture/Drafting preferred.
• 7+ years of professional interior design/architecture experience with team leadership.
• Experience in restaurant, retail, or tenant improvements.
• Strong skills in Revit, BIM coordination, Enscape, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Develop interior design concepts aligned with client goals and budgets.
• Prepare presentations communicating design concepts and decisions.
• Coordinate space plans, finishes, elevations, and interior details.
• Support project manager across all design phases and documentation.
• Lead project kickoff meetings and track action items.
• Produce construction documents using Revit and integrate client standards.
• Mentor Designers and Senior Designers to build project management skills.
• Collaborate with team, consultants, and clients for project delivery.

Education

CID credential

Bachelor’s degree or technical degree in Interior Design/Architecture/Drafting

7+ years professional experience

Leadership/mentorship experience
