Job summary

AbbVie Analytical Research & Development (ARD) seeks a Separations Scientist to lead chromatographic method development for a diverse pipeline, spanning small molecules to biotherapeutics. The Screening Lab emphasizes high-throughput approaches and robust, reliable analytical methods for project teams.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in chromatography, analytical method development, and in-silico modeling.

Qualifications

• Possesses thorough theoretical and practical understanding of own scientific discipline.
• Effective writer and communicator of research or regulatory materials.
• Proven, hands-on experience in the development of novel complex analytical methods.
• Experience with in-silico techniques such as chromatographic modeling and machine learning; knowledge of Fusion, Drylab, ChromSword or GoSilico would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ability to resolve key project hurdles and assumptions to deliver results within project timelines.
• Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
• Proactively seek new information in the literature and apply to projects.
• Seize opportunities to pursue leads aligned with group strategy.
• Develop high-throughput platform screening capabilities for separation-based assays.
• Evaluate novel technology approaches and build scientific profile internally and externally.
• Maintain high productivity in the lab and communicate with stakeholders.
• Adhere to corporate standards including GxP, safety, and proper handling of materials.
• May mentor a team and evaluate performance.
