Job summary

AbbVie Analytical R&D is hiring a Scientist II to independently develop and optimize analytical methods for small-molecule drug substances and products. You will work across preclinical and clinical programs, collaborating with PCS, Process Chemistry, DPD, QA, and CMC-Regulatory to deliver robust data.

The role requires strong analytical chemistry skills, chromatography and spectroscopy experience, and proficiency with Waters Empower CDS and SLIMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry or equivalent with 7+ years experience, or Master's with 5+ years experience.
• Hands-on experience with chromatography (HPLC/UPLC/GC) and spectroscopic techniques.
• Expert knowledge of Waters Empower CDS and SLIMS for data management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize analytical methods to generate reliable data.
• Perform analytical separation and detection for impurity profiling.
• Support projects with method development, transfer, and data generation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across PCS, Process Chemistry, DPD, QA, and CMC-Regulatory.
• Demonstrate scientific rigor and identify improvements in lab processes.
