Position Description:

The ideal candidate will have native language proficiency, knowledge of target country's Navy, and in-depth cultural knowledge to enable them to translate both complex technical material as well as slang, colloquial, misspelled, incomplete and/or other nuanced language as is often found in social media. The senior linguist has similar responsibilities to the Linguist/Translator/Collector position but spends a portion of their time reviewing and providing quality assurance for junior linguists' translations.

Required Qualifications:

1. 8 Years' experience working in intelligence with the military or IC agency.
2. DLPT score or equivalent test that uses the ILR scale in targeted 3L/4R language (Persian Farsi, Mandarin Chinese, or Russian) scored within the last three years.
3. English language test using the ILR, 3L/3R scored within the last three years.

Desired Qualifications:

1. 20 Years' experience working in intelligence with the military or IC agency.
2. DLPT score or equivalent test that uses the ILR scale in targeted 4L/4R language (Persian Farsi, Mandarin Chinese, or Russian) scored within the last three years.
3. English language test using the ILR, 4L/4R scored within the last three years.
4. Minimum of a four-year bachelor's degree at an accredited university.
5. 4 years of experience in a position that provides expertise in naval terminology.
6. 6 years of experience in a position where their primary duty was performing open source or social media research and exploitation in targeted language.
