Job summary

Southland Industries, Inc. is seeking a Chiller Technician to support maintenance, repair, and service of commercial and industrial HVAC and central plant equipment in Garden Grove, CA.

You will troubleshoot issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure reliable system performance with a strong safety and customer-service focus. You will maintain chillers and central plant components, participate in start-ups and commissioning, and engage with customers and internal teams to deliver timely

Qualifications

• 5 years of journeyman level work experience and technical schooling.
• Commercial/Industrial air conditioning experience required.
• Knowledge of chillers, HVAC and central plants.
• HVAC large tonnage field knowledge required.
• Must be available for emergency service calls on-call.
• EPA certified.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair central plant equipment, including chillers 100 tons and larger, motors, pumps, valves, controls, cooling towers, vane axial fans, and other equipment.
• Overhaul of centrifugal chillers a plus.
• Manage site-wide maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair duties for chillers, cooling towers, and central plant equipment.
• End-to-end testing, programming, start-ups, and commissioning.
• Support the office with recommended repairs from delivery to completion.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and ensure compliance with safety policies.
• Work with the Service Supervisor on new and existing customer opportunities or issues.
