Job summary

Iredell County is seeking a Supervisor for the Child Protective Services unit to lead and support a team of social workers. You will ensure safeguarding of children, assignment of cases, and adherence to laws within a dynamic county program.

The role requires an MSW with significant child welfare supervision experience, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate across investigations, court orders, and policy compliance. Pre-employment screenings apply and transcripts are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work from an accredited institution and two years of related experience; or a bachelor’s in social work with three years of related experience; or a master’s in human services with three years of related experience; or a bachelor’s in human services with four years of related experience; or a bachelor’s degree with five years of related experience.
• Official transcripts of all degree work are required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, or orient lower-level social workers, students, interns or other staff.
• Coordinate, implement, manage, and support all activities of the Child Protective Services unit.
• Ensure social workers protect children, comply with court orders and state/national laws.
