Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA invites applications for a Full Time Child Care Director – Early Learning & Care at Mount Laurel. Salary range is $50,000-$55,000.

Lead the Mount Laurel Early Learning Center, ensuring high-quality, developmentally appropriate care and compliant programming with state licensing and YMCA standards. You will supervise staff, communicate with families, coordinate daily activities, and ensure readiness for audits.

Qualifications

• Present degree from an accredited college or university in education or human services.
• Verify a minimum of 2 years (2500 hours) of childcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Read and be accountable for YMCA Policies, State Licensing Body regulations, and Quality Rating System standards.
• Supervise by identifying, SEE, HEAR, DIRECT and ASSIST to ensure safety of children in care; adhere to state ratios; maintain attendance.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding children's progress and maintain confidentiality and sensitivity.
• Provide quality Adult/Child interactions with positive feedback and open-ended questions; maintain age-appropriate verbal interactions.
• Attend and renew trainings as reflected in the training plan and YMCA policies and regulations.
• Direct and maintain environments that build children's self-esteem and use positive redirection techniques.
• Record weekly child observations and any concerns that may require early intervention.
• Coordinate, plan, and implement daily child-centered, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Maintain program operations in line with policies and quality rating standards; prepare for annual audits.
• Lead by example with professionalism; supervise all site staff; prepare timely communications to parents.
