THG in Edison, NJ is seeking a Senior Chemist (R&D) to lead formulation and development of innovative personal care, cosmetic, and OTC products. This role involves hands-on formulation, lab batch preparation, stability testing, and submitting samples for customer analysis, working closely with Sales, Lab Technicians and vendors.

The ideal candidate has a BS in cosmetic science/chemistry/biochemistry and 7+ years of product development experience, with strong project management and documentation

Qualifications

• BS in cosmetic science, chemistry or biochemistry required.
• 7+ years of product development experience in cosmetics/OTC.
• Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Development of stable and compliant personal care, cosmetics and OTC products.
• Timely shipment of lab samples to customers/marketing/testing facilities.
• Effective communication with Sales Executives, Lab Technicians and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead formulation and development of innovative, stable products.
• Perform hands-on formulation work and lab batch prep.
• Conduct stability testing and submit samples for customer analysis.
• Maintain detailed lab notebooks and documentation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to meet project goals and timelines.
• Calibrate and validate lab instruments; ensure a clean, safe lab environment.
