Job summary

Englewood Lab is seeking a Junior Chemist for the R&D - Skincare team to analyze batches and measure parameters like viscosity, pH, and density. You will document work, enter formulations, and collaborate with QA, Regulatory, Production, and Marketing to support product development.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Chemistry (or Biology with chemistry coursework) and 0–3 years in skincare formulation. Ability to lift 10–15 pounds and strong organizational skills are needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (or Biology with coursework in general and organic chemistry).
• 0–3 years of experience in R&D, formulation, and emulsions, ideally in skincare product development.
• Well organized and highly detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date lab notebook.
• Prepare and make lab batches.
• Create qualitative and quantitative ingredient lists.
• Check next-day specifications against the previous day's batch.
• Follow up on stability studies and report observations.
• Analyze lab batches by measuring viscosity, pH, and density.
• Enter formulations into the formulation system.
• Communicate with raw material vendors and attend in-house vendor presentations.
• Manage time effectively to meet batch, testing, and project deadlines.
• Assist in formulation and development of innovative skincare products, including line extensions and product improvements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with QA, Regulatory, Production, and Marketing.
• Review results and progress regularly with the supervisor.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper organization of raw materials and samples.
• Follow all laboratory safety, GMP, and internal quality standards.
