Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Chemical Process Designer in Boise, ID to lead the development of process systems for semiconductor and high-tech facilities. You will produce P&IDs, process diagrams, and isometric drawings, working with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable engineering solutions.

You will verify hydraulic performance with PIPE-FLO, ensure ASME B31.3 compliance, and mentor junior designers while contributing to project scope, schedule, and cost management.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; Associate degree a plus.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; experience with Revit/Navisworks a plus.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3 piping design; NFPA related to chemical safety.
• Ability to coordinate with PMs, engineers, architects, and trades.
• Hands-on use of PIPE-FLO or similar hydraulic software for validation.

Responsibilities

• Produce P&IDs, drawings, and models aligned with project requirements.
• Lead development of P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and isometric drawings per CAD standards.
• Verify hydraulic performance using PIPE-FLO or equivalent tools.
• Ensure designs comply with ASME B31.3 and company CAD standards.
• Coordinate with process engineers and other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
• Conduct field verifications and site assessments; troubleshoot during construction.
• Support project managers in scope, schedule, and cost management.
• Mentor junior designers in drafting standards and software usage.
