Job summary

Michelman is seeking Advanced Chemical Operators to safely and independently manufacture specialty chemical batches using reactors, kettles, filtration, and utilities on 3rd shift, with flexibility for future shifts. You will follow SOPs, monitor process data, perform changeovers, cleaning, and inventory transactions, and document conditions for clear handoffs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years hands-on chemical manufacturing experience, preferably with batch processing.
• Experience coordinating with Maintenance, Quality, or Engineering teams.
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as equipment and area owner, maintaining ownership over assigned equipment.
• Ensure utilities readiness for unit operation (e.g., heat exchanger, hot-water-on-demand).
• Follow SOPs to safely operate equipment including reactors, kettles, mixers, pumps, filtration, forklifts, and utilities.
• Load, unload, and package materials per instructions and complete documentation.
• Manufacture batches per work orders and adjust to meet specifications.
• Record process data in real time and escalate abnormalities or trends.
• Support shift handoffs and participate in daily tier meetings.
