Job summary

Everforth ECS seeks a Senior Check Point Firewall Engineer to support a Federal client from our Washington, DC office with optional remote work. You will design, implement, and manage Check Point firewall architectures and related security features for mission-critical environments.

The role requires leading administration, policy management, and documentation updates, with readiness to work outside standard hours for outages or upgrades.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience configuring and administering Check Point firewalls.
• In-depth knowledge of security operations, including firewall rules and security policies.
• Strong networking ability to identify and isolate issues during incidents and outages.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customer staff to design, plan and implement firewall architectures, upgrades and features as necessary.
• Lead in the administration of the client's Check Point firewalls including updates, upgrades, policy administration and validation.
• Review and implement customer changes consistent with existing policies.
• Review and update documentation to ensure consistency with current procedures.
• Manage and tune software blades (IPS, URL Filtering, Application Control, AV, Advanced Malware detection).
• Willingness to work outside of normal business hours to support outage resolution, planned maintenance or upgrades.
