Job summary

Everforth ECS in Washington, DC area seeks a Senior Check Point Firewall Engineer to design, implement and administer Check Point firewall architectures for a federal client, with the option to work remotely from time to time.

Responsibilities include updates, policy administration, blade management, and supporting outages outside normal business hours. Collaboration with customer staff is essential for successful deployments.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of experience configuring and administering Check Point firewalls.
• In-depth knowledge of security operations, including firewall rules and security policies.
• Strong networking ability and knowledge of firewall platforms to assist in rapid identification and isolation of issues during incidents and outages.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and implement new firewall architectures, upgrades and features for the client.
• Lead in the administration of Check Point firewalls, including updates and policy administration.
• Review and implement customer changes consistent with existing policies.
• Review and update documentation to ensure consistency with current procedures.
• Manage and tune additional software blades (IPS, URL, Application Control, AV, Advanced Malware detection).
• Willingness to work outside of normal business hours to support outages or upgrades.
