Job summary

Rivian in Torrance, CA is seeking a Sr. Test and Validation Engineer to lead the validation of charging and energy products, coordinating with software and hardware teams.

You will develop end-to-end validation plans, write test procedures, design fixtures, supervise lab staff, participate in design reviews, and help root-cause analysis.

A BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years of validation leadership for high‑power systems are expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years leading validation in high‑power electrical products.
• Experience in test planning and end‑to‑end validation.
• Hands‑on hardware testing at a system level.
• Familiarity with CAN, Ethernet, Linux, LabVIEW.
• Experience with medium/high voltage up to 1000VDC.
• Strong technical communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the end-to-end validation plan for Rivian’s Charging & Energy products.
• Work closely with the software and hardware engineering teams to understand test requirements.
• Develop test procedures to define instructions on test setup and execution.
• Design and modify test fixtures and instrumentation for charging equipment testing.
• Provide direction to lab personnel in setting up and executing system tests.
• Lead tear down analysis and post processing of hardware at end of test.
