Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Clinical Unit Leader for St. Charles Hospital. The Lead RN/Charge Nurse coordinates patient care on a designated unit, collaborating with the Clinical Manager to promote excellence in clinical practice and patient satisfaction while ensuring efficient use of resources.

The role requires active leadership, strong communication, and a commitment to Mercy Health's mission. A BSN is preferred, with RN licensure in the applicable state and basic life support certifications

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state you work or covered by a multi-state compact.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire; must obtain prior to patient care.
• Certifications may be required depending on the assigned unit (PALS/ACLS/NRP/TNCC/ENPC/BSN).

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient care on a designated unit in collaboration with the Clinical Manager.
• Adjusts schedules and assignments based on acuity and unit needs.
• Oversees staff in the absence of the unit leader and mentors team members.
• Promotes patient safety, infection control and high-quality care delivery.
• Communicates with patients and families about nursing interventions and plans.
• Engages in interprofessional collaboration to ensure care continuity.
