Job summary

Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs seeks a Senior Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct nursing care at the Alwyn C. Cashe State Veterans’ Nursing Home in Orlando.

The SCNA supports residents under a licensed nurse, handling activities of daily living and mobility with attention to safety and comfort. The role requires weekend/holiday availability, a valid Florida CNA license and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must possess a valid Certified Nursing Assistant license in Florida.
• Must be willing to work a schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Must possess a current CPR card.
• Must have basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Respond promptly to call lights and resident needs.
• Document services in facility software/databases.
• Maintain Residents' Rights and confidentiality.
• Assist with feeding, grooming, bathing and toileting as needed.
• Perform vital signs, weights and medication assistance as required.
• Participate in in-service programs and training sessions.
