Job summary

Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs at Alwyn C. Cashe State Veterans’ Nursing Home in Orlando seeks a Senior Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct resident care under supervision of a licensed nurse.

You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and document services in facility software, with rotating 13-hour shifts. Eligible for benefits including health, retirement plans, tuition waiver, and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must possess a valid Certified Nursing Assistant license in Florida.
• Must be willing to work a schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
• Must possess a current CPR card.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Successful completion of the employment screening process including a national background investigation and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living, ambulation, and mobility.
• Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests.
• Observe and report resident concerns to the shift supervisor.
• Complete assignments accurately and cooperatively.
• Follow nursing service and FDVA policies and procedures.
• Assist with daily living activities and self‑administration of medications as needed.
• Document services in facility software.
