Job summary

American Airlines is seeking a Certification Engineer to support the Engineering Manager by guiding Certification Engineers through FAA compliance and STC projects. You will develop substantiation materials, train teams, and coordinate with the FAA and ODA to ensure airworthiness for modifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or higher.
• 5 years of job-related experience in an airline environment.
• Experience with FAA Part 21 and 25 regulations and interaction with the FAA.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Engineering Manager in assigning, supporting, mentoring, and reviewing activities of Certification Engineers related to certification processes and regulations.
• Dispositon of highly complex technical concerns related to Certification and compliance to FAA Airworthiness for aircraft modifications and STC activities.
• Develop compliance and substantiation documents related to STC activity with the AA ODA.
• Develop ODA training materials and assist with required ODA and certification training.
• Investigate aircraft/component problems which may cause aircraft non-compliance with FAA regulations or STC modifications.
