Job summary

StandardAero in Springfield, IL seeks a Senior ODA Certification Engineer to ensure aircraft design, modifications, and repairs meet FAA requirements and aviation safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years in engineering or certification role.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical aviation discipline or equivalent.
  • Experience with 14 CFR Parts 21, 23, 25, 27, 29.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Willing to work off-schedule hours and weekends.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and proactively address issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Travel up to 25%.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

As the Senior ODA Certification Engineer, you'll make sure that aircraft design, modifications, and repairs meet regulatory standards set by aviation authorities like the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). You play a critical role in maintaining aviation safety and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements during the design and modification of aircraft.

What You'll do:
  • Interface and communication with StandardAero ODA members, vendors, and customers as necessary.
  • Develop, edit and contribute to supporting documents relating to certification activities.
  • Attend project meetings and assume responsibility for assigned action items.
  • Develop and execute certification plans to support modification projects.
  • Develop and maintain the MDL for STC projects.
  • Manage project certification compliance.
  • Conduct and coordinate design and program review meetings.
  • Mentor on certification requirements, processes and procedures.
  • Overall STC Project Management
  • Assist others within the department as required.
Position Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience working in an engineering or certification role.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical aviation discipline or equivalent directly related work experience.
  • Experience working with 14 CFR Parts 21, 23, 25, 27 and 29.
  • Be able to work either alone or as a team to solve problems.
  • Must be able to work off schedule hours & weekends as required.
  • Possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Must be able to look ahead, anticipate problems and proactively address issues.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects and multiple deadlines.
  • Travel up to 25%
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Requirements:

FAA delegation (i.e. DER/DAR)

Salary: $90,720 - 136,080 based on experience

The compensation package for this position also includes a performance-based cash and equity incentives. Actual pay will be determined based on the selected candidate's skills, experience, and internal equity considerations.
