Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas seeks a Senior Compressor Development Engineer to lead advanced centrifugal compressor design, analysis, and qualification. You will work with lab teams on prototype concepts and drive development from customer needs to final product launch.

Requirements include a Mechanical Eng degree and 5+ years in turbomachinery, with CAD proficiency and strong stress/vibration expertise. Onsite role in Plymouth, MN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of related experience; higher degree may substitute.
• Experience with turbomachinery, preferably centrifugal compressors.
• Knowledge of manufacturing capabilities and materials.
• Strong understanding of stress, vibration, fatigue and failure modes.
• Experience in product testing and data acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement planning for compressor development with milestones.
• Design and analyze centrifugal compressor components end-to-end.
• Perform stress, vibration, modal, and fatigue analyses on parts.
• Manage product development lifecycle from requirements to launch.
• Derive component-level specs from assembly requirements; ensure manufacturability.
• Develop DFMEA criteria and lead testing to validate designs.
