SSC Services for Education is seeking a Plant Operations Manager to lead central plant operations, including chill water and boiler plant management, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance in a healthcare/education setting. The role emphasizes safety, CMMS oversight, and collaboration with campus stakeholders.

Ideal candidates bring extensive experience in central plants or electrical distribution, with a background in healthcare or education environments and strong supervisory skills.

Qualifications

• Ten years of central plant or electrical distribution experience.
• Education may substitute on a yearly basis for the required experience with vocational training.
• Knowledge of utility plant mechanical and electrical systems and components.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Operate chill water and boiler plant.
• Inspect heating, refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, chillers, boilers, and related equipment.
• Manage chemical additions to boilers and cooling systems.
• Monitor Energy Management Controls System.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repair rotating equipment (pumps, motors, etc.).
• Inspect and test refrigeration systems and safety devices for efficiency and compliance.
• Troubleshoot major malfunctions and take corrective action.
• Oversee work through the CMMS tool.
• Observe safety rules and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist other Physical Plant departments as needed.
